Landscape Lighting & Outdoor Sound, Designed Together
Lighting and audio already share ground space, a transformer, and a control app, so at Blue Hour, they share a design, too. We offer seven services, all built around that idea:
Landscape Lighting Design and Installation
We install facade uplighting, path lighting, moonlighting through tree canopies, and soft garden lighting on beds and specimen trees. Every fixture is low-voltage LED, aimed and tuned so it softly and naturally highlights the features of your home you want to highlight.
Hardscape Lighting
Steps, seat walls, pillars, patios, and pavers get their light from inside the stonework itself. With 20 years in masonry, we know exactly where a fixture hides in a wall. Recessed into the joint and protected by the stone around it, it's built to last and protected from the weather and unnecessary wear.
Outdoor Sound System Design and Installation
We install Sonance garden speakers low in the planting beds, with subwoofers hidden under the lawn. Sound fills the yard evenly at conversation volume, so you never notice where it's coming from.
Smart Controls and Lighting Automation
Your automation system ties into Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Savant, Lutron, Control4, or Crestron. The lights ease on at dusk and dim to a quieter glow for late nights, without anyone touching a switch.
Commercial Outdoor Lighting
HOAs, apartment properties, office parks, and town grounds get energy-efficient exterior lighting, plus the paid lighting-level assessments needed for liability insurance. Our security work is lighting-based: illumination, deterrence, and clear sight lines. We do not install, supply, or service security cameras or surveillance equipment.
Lighting Maintenance Plans
We visit most homes twice a year, once in spring and once in fall. We re-aim the accent lights and spotlights that plantings have grown over, replace failed lamps, repair nicked wiring, and reset the timers. Commercial contracts run up to four visits.
Holiday Lighting
We put your lights up beginning in late November, take them down in mid-January, and store them until next year, so there's nothing for you to manage. Use your own lights or ours. We recommend booking by November 1, since slots fill fast.
Why Homeowners Choose Blue Hour Lighting
Lighting and Audio Are Our Whole Business
We are lighting and audio specialists. Every credential, every trade show, and every hour of training goes into those two trades, and your project gets the same people from start to finish.
One Team for Lighting and Audio
Low-voltage wiring and audio are both in-house. If something needs adjusting after installation, there's no finger-pointing between separate contractors. We build it, and we stand behind it.
Architectural-Grade Design Plans
Before installation begins, you get a personalized, detailed lighting design. Once you approve it, we get to work. Our clients find that seeing the layout in advance helps them move forward with confidence.
The Electrical Side Is Handled Properly
Low-voltage lighting runs at 12 volts, so the fixtures and wire in your beds aren't line-voltage work. The transformer still needs a proper exterior GFCI circuit, and most houses already have the outlet. If yours doesn't, we know exactly what to tell the electrician so they're able to make the needed adjustments for your new lighting system.
Light and Sound in One Project
As a Sonance authorized dealer and installer, we design the landscape lighting and the outdoor audio together. One trenching pass, one low-voltage layout, and one control system without additional disruptions that would come from a second installation process.

The Blue Hour Lighting Process
Consultation
Jarod walks the property with you to learn how you actually use the yard after sundown and to see how much lighting the house can handle. This is also where we look at what the existing landscape gives us to work with.
Design & Estimate
After brainstorming, we create a lighting plan overlaid on photographs of your home, along with a written estimate.
Contract & Deposit
Once everything looks good, you sign, place the deposit, and we place your fixture order.
Installation
Our crew handles the trenching, the wire runs, the transformer, the light fixtures, and any audio, start to finish.
Nighttime Walkthrough
After sundown, we'll adjust every aim and every beam angle with your input. Daylight guessing is how a system ends up looking harsh, so we tune it at the hour it has to work.
